He has the affair with the other woman to give himself a ââ¬Å"boostâ⬠or to go into another world because he feels he has been a failure at not achieving the ââ¬Å"American Dream. â⬠Having an affair also caused Willy to breakdown because Biff caught him cheating and Willy feels guilty about it. Willy always loved Biff and thought he would be an amazing business man but after Biff saw Willy cheating it tore Biff apart. Biff failed math and went to Boston to get his dad to talk to his math teacher but at that time he caught his father cheating which made him not get along with his dad for the rest of his life. Willy knows deep down it his fault that Biff never became a successful business man. The fact that he feels guilty is also a huge factor in his mental breakdown. The psychoanalytic theory describes how the environment around a person has an effect on the person. In Willyââ¬â¢s case it his sons and his failiures in life which is causing him to be unstable. From the multiple causes of Willyââ¬â¢s mental breakdown the biggest thing that broke him down was when Biff at the end of Act II shows him the rubber tube he found and explains to him that he was never what Willy wanted him to be. After all that Willy realizes his sons actually do love him even though they arenââ¬â¢t successful businessman. When will realizes he is almost finished is when Biff says ââ¬Å"Pop, Iââ¬â¢m nothing! Im nothing Pop. Cant you understand that? Thereââ¬â¢s no spite in it anymore. Im just what I am, thatââ¬â¢s all. â⬠Biff also says ââ¬Å"Will you let me go for Christââ¬â¢s sakeâ⬠Will you take that phony dream and burn it before something happens? After this situation Willy realizes he has not accomplished much in life and his life is almost finished but Biff does love him. Willy has been chasing the American dream for ever trying to follow his father but has never succeeded which has caused him to fail throughout his whole life because he never really did what he was good at which was using his hands. After Willy committed suicide biff tells us what Willy could have been which could have made him successful. Biff says ââ¬Å"Charley, thereââ¬â¢s more of him in that front stoop than in all the sales he ever made. â⬠This shows that Willy was never a salesman but was good with his hands. The played concluded with Willy committing suicide so his sons could collect the insurance money and because he had realized he was a failure in life but still wanted his children to be happy and successful. The multiple complications lead to the destruction of an American Dream. Willy wanted a dream that seemed materialistic and unimportant which caused his own life and destruction of his kids. Willy trying to chase the American dream and trying to be better then Charley and trying to be like his dad caused him to be a failure and eventually take his own life. Him not being able to achieve his dreams throughout his life caused him to be a failure and destroying his kids as well.

Have Police Managers become too bureaucratic? Essay
In the past, the police force has always been regard as guardians of law and order in the society. Today, however, the police, in particular, the police managers, are not only simply involved in enforcing the law and ensuring the stability of society, but also in assuming various political and administrative roles. In words, the police managers have more or less become involved in matters that are beyond their job description, which is to simply manage a police force. Nowadays, police leaders have become more involved in numerous paper works and even in dealings with politicians and people who have great influence and power. While there is nothing wrong with the police managers associating themselves with politicians and other people of the same type in order to possibly earn additional income, there are various risks that can greatly affect their image and career, such as corruption. Although the police manager may do his or her job of protecting his or her so-called client, he or she is also exposed to several temptations. One example of which is accepting bribes that can further result in the police manager protecting his or her client who is involved in illegal activities. Ã Furthermore, the police manager may end up being involved in criminal activities himself or herself or being or being an accessory to crime. These criminal activities may include illegal drug trafficking and child and women trafficking, among many others. In other words, due to massive corruption, the police office suddenly forgets his or her true role in society which is to uphold the law and maintain peace and order. While police corruption is one of the greatest sins against society in general, there are times when people cannot blame the police manager for becoming corrupt. One of the reasons behind this is the relatively average income that a police manager receives. Basically, since the police manager needs to earn more for himself or herself and possibly for his or her family, he or she uses resorts to various alternatives to augment his or her income. And, relatively, the easiest way for him or her to do so is to become involved in illegal activities such as accepting bribes and favors from shady people in exchange for money. However, aside from money, another factor that results in the corruption of a police manager is power. When a police manager associates himself or herself to people in power, such as business tycoons and politicians, in a way, he or she is sharing their power and influence. Ã For example, a police manager can use the influence of his or her client who is in power to dodge criminal charges. Moreover, he or she can also use the influence of his or her client to threaten other people. In addition, after some time, the police manager may end up in power himself or herself as a reward for protecting his or her client. In short, too much bureaucracy on the part of the police manager, more often than not, always leads to corruption. This is mainly due to the fact that the police manager has a relatively low salary and is always looking for ways to consolidate his or her salary.

The World Of The East Coast Of Massachusetts - 1057 Words
The rooms were confined to themselves by a large metal door with a small slot about 5 feet from the floor that could only be opened from the outside. The walls were once a brilliant white, but now filled with the scratch marks and blood stains from the ones before me. The room stench of urine, most likely from the other patients. All there was in the room was a small cot with a mattress so thin, it almost looked as if it was a thin piece of plywood. As I laid there strapped to my bed by leather restraints that were made to ââ¬Å"protectâ⬠me from myself, I kept pondering on the question ââ¬Å"what did I do to deserve to be locked up in a place like this?â⬠Then I remember my crime, and smile. This perdition of a world I was living in was the Brooksideâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦They think that pills and shock therapy can cure the sickness inside my head, but one thing is for sure; I will never modificate. I like the way I am too much to be changed. I am a monster and I adore it. Not much happened the first month happened the first month inside the asylum, just the periodic routine I followed: Eat breakfast with the other patients, take my morning pills, be given an hour of electroconvulsive therapy, swig down more pills, then listen to music for an hour or two and finally be tested by the nurses there. A very basic routine, one that I very easily got in the habit of following. Being a young man, the age of 24 at the time, I tried to keep to myself most of the time and did not associate with the other patients for they were too decrepitated and insane for my likings. On the fiftieth day I was at the mental institution, my usual routine abruptly was broken. I was listening to my favorite song, Heureux Tous Les Deux by Frank Alamo, three of the health care workers walked into my room with the director of the hospital, Dr. James Roxton. Dr. Roxton, a very serious man, was in a furious manner and screamed at me ââ¬Å"In all this time since youââ¬â¢ve been in my care, you have not improved! Not even the slightest! It is time to escalate your therapy.â⬠ââ¬Å"What are you going to doâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ I was saying as they ripped me away from the old cassette player in my room. They threw me onto the metal table they brought with them into the room and restrained me down
